- Registered Voter: You must be a registered voter in the county.
- Age Requirement: Be at least 21 years old on Election Day.
- District Residency: Reside within the district if running for a district-specific race.
- School Board Candidacy: Reside in the district you wish to represent for the Buncombe County School Board.
- Municipal Residency: Live within the municipal limits for the City of Asheville, Asheville School Board, Biltmore Forest, Black Mountain, and Montreat offices.
