Every single election counts. Conservatives need to start snatching offices out of the hands of socialist-leaning officeholders and begin working to halt and repair the damage our rulers are perpetrating. Our leaders have demonstrated that they have no concern with our values, beliefs, or ideas. All that matters to them is to push their socialist agenda. There is no longer any need for them to negotiate with the Right on ANYTHING. They have the numbers to push their agenda through without Republicans, independents, or anyone else. They do not even have to pretend that we matter – it’s all about power and control.
What will this city/county/state/country/planet look like by the time we reach the November 8, 2022, mid-term elections?
But wait! Every election matters, and voters will elect a new Mayor of Weaverville, new members of the Weaverville Town Council, and new Woodfin Aldermen in LESS THAN 3 MONTHS! In addition, the three existing Democrat Buncombe – Woodfin Sanitary Water and Sewer District Trustees are running unopposed for re-election. Each member of the Weaverville Town Council and the Mayor of Weaverville serve for alternating four-year terms. Citizens of the Town of Woodfin elect three Town Commissioners to staggered four-year terms every two years and elect a Mayor every two years in nonpartisan elections. So citizens will either be cursed or blessed for 2-4 years with the results of this year’s elections. Choose wisely, Citizens.
The filing dates for the 2021 election were July 2, 2021, through July 16, 2021. There is no process or deadline to qualify as a write-in candidate for nonpartisan contests. The deadline for qualifying as a write-in candidate depends on the office. Click here for an information sheet on becoming a write-in candidate. Buncombe County has released its Election Notice for the November 2021 elections. You can see the list of registered candidates in this notice.
