Conservative Activism 102

In our last newsletter, we shared some insight and (hopefully!) some motivation to help you take a baby step toward becoming a conservative activist by signing a petition. Congratulations and Thank you! Did you do it?  Let me assure you that it did indeed make a difference.  They never hear us if we fail to speak up, but you raised your voice!  Please check our “Take Action!” webpage monthly to see what we’ve added. We’re always alert to new petitions that fit within our scope.  If you find that we’ve missed an important one, please let us know

Remember:  (1) Sign it   (2) Share it with friends, followers, neighbors, and family members.  (3) Ask them to do the same.

Help grow a movement by engaging your network and bringing them into the fold.

The socialists have trained their followers well in how to use simple techniques for influencing public policy.  They have been fighting “the system” for decades and have become experts at it.  If we are serious about taking back our government, we would be wise to follow some of the techniques that have worked so well for them.  Public Schools First NC managed to convert the Wake County schools system into a WOKE school system that is now a model for child indoctrination in schools.  They certainly know how to use their voices collectively to influence change.

Please take a look at this straightforward set of guidelines that they ask their supporters to follow in helping them impose their beliefs on the rest of us.  One need not endorse their views to admire their methods.  Nothing prevents us from leveraging those same methods to promote conservative ideals – nothing except the lack of willingness to pick up those simple tools and do the work.

Start with something easy.  While you may be reluctant to use social media platforms after watching how they treated a sitting POTUS, you cannot ignore the reach of those platforms.  Almost every elected representative’s office uses a Twitter account to collect followers and share their ideals. Like it or not, socialists and democrats control our local government. They did not run from the platforms that chased away conservative users.  You will likely fail to reach any of them on GAB or Parler.

To effect change, we must venture away from those “safe places” and into our opponents’ territory.  They are who we need to convert or, at least, influence.

I don’t think there is much the left won’t do to advance their agenda. So, I endorse the use of pseudonyms in this war. Build your activist identity and use that until you’re ready to place your face and name on your conservative voice.  You can be…

  • Betsy.Ross7@emaildomain.com
  • Not.Woke.Waiter@emaildomain.com
  • ConservativeConstructionGuy@emaildomain.com
  • AntiCRTteacher@emaildomain.com

…or just about anyone else you want to be.  Have fun with it! Now, you can use use the “new you” to open your Twitter account, even if you have to hold your nose while doing it.  Then:

  • Follow us @AshevilleFirst.
  • Like and retweet our tweets.
  • Follow all of your elected officials.
  • Familiarize yourself with some Tweeting basics from the League of Women Voters (2-minute read). (Notice how we like to use their tools against them?) While this document is specific to redistricting, the steps on page 3 can help tweet about any topic.  For something more in-depth, check out their webinar on YouTube.

Now you can respond to the tweets of your elected officials to let them know what you agree with and what you don’t! Help the Twitterverse and your followers know what elected leaders are doing for us or to us. Raise your conservative voice!
