PURPOSE:  The purpose of the Affordable Housing Committee is to engage with community partners, solicit public input and make housing affordability policy and funding recommendations to the Board of Commissioners for Buncombe County.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS:  The committee meets on the first Tuesday monthly from 1 PM – 2:30 PM.

MEMBERSHIP:  Committee membership consists of one commissioner from each district and the County Commission Chairman.

WHY WE WATCH:  The local government has demonstrated its desire to end homelessness and make affordable housing available – no matter what it will cost the taxpayers.

We can work to influence this committee to HELP housing-challenged county residents instead of enabling them.
