SUMMARY:Election Day - Tuesday\, November 8
DESCRIPTION:To view your sample ballot(s): Registered voters may enter their information into the Voter Search and navigate to “Your Sample Ballot.” \n2022 General Election\nJust for the record you may be interested to know that: \n\nEvery single member of the current Asheville City Council (including the mayor) voted in favor of paying “reparations” to black Asheville.\nThey all voted to declare that “racism is a public health emergency”.\nNone of them have taken a public stand in support of the Asheville Police Department.\nOne current member of City council is a fearless supporter of the movement calling for steps to reduce the size and funding of the police force.  She (Kim Roney) is running for Mayor and must be defeated.\nRoney has been endorsed by the Asheville chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America.  (You can find these delightful creatures on facebook here.)\n\nThese folks are not very interested in hearing from those who hold diverse viewpoints\, and THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED! \n\nIs this a good time to borrow money (while rates are the highest in a decade)?  It may indeed be a good time to BUY county bonds to acquire land for conservation and build more affordable housing.  Yet\, we\, the taxpayers\, will watch the County Commissioners raise our property taxes to pay the bond money (and interest) back.  Tell the county to tighten its belt (as the rest of us are all doing) and think about this sometime while we are NOT in a recession and in a period of historical inflation.\n\nLike this:Like Loading...
